About the Client
Chris Vaughn is a Video Production Manager at NDS, Inc., USA, a leading manufacturer of drainage, valves, pipe, connections, clamps, telecom boxes, and more. Established in 1972, NDS made a milestone by manufacturing the first plastic catch basin for landscape drainage. The brand is trusted for stormwater, irrigation, and flow management solutions in the Americas. NDS is a proud member of the NORMA Group, a global leader in highly engineered solutions for the auto industry.
Chris collaborates with screenwriters, product experts, editors, and motion graphics artists to align with company strategies and connect with potential customers. He also invested his 10+ years of experience in video production, editing, and capture. Chris manages NDS’s Digital Media Studio, where industry experts produce best-in-class 360-degree photography for e-commerce initiatives.
His ultimate goal is to deliver high-quality video content that showcases NDS’s products, features, and benefits to enhance brand reputation and visibility. The machinery product images often lacked consistency in lighting and required busy/unwanted background removal, machinery color correction, and overall aesthetic appeal, affecting customer engagement and product perception. The only solution to keep the brand image is to represent organized and distraction-free professional images.
In Chris’s Opinion, high-quality machinery photos had a 94% higher conversion rate than low-quality photos.
To overcome these backlogs, he decided to distribute workloads among professional image post-production service companies. He planned to outsource photo editing services. Though in the early stage, he focused on basic image editing like color correction, product resizing, etc. But day after day, he noticed that to compete with competitors, NDS product images require pixel-perfect advanced editing.
He searched Google for top companies that are reputed in this industry and shortlisted some. Though the process of selecting professionals was a tiresome task, Chris decided to try those shortlisted companies’ free trials to justify their work quality, communication process, and turnaround time. He then finalized Clipping Path Studio (CPS) for their expertise in handling complex machinery image editing tasks and their competitive pricing model.
Technical Challenges
Challenge 1
Chris needed polished and professional-looking machinery to highlight key features that entice buyers. He wanted to maintain high-quality visual content for NDS’s diverse product line. So, Chris asked us what type of photo editing service would be best to maintain consistency and overall aesthetic appeal.
Challenge 2
A bulk amount of product background distractions took away product focus, shadows, affecting clarity and presentation – those required urgent editing. Chris also demanded advanced retouching whenever it was needed across all marketing platforms.
Challenge 3
NDS’s mission is to protect and enhance the value and beauty of properties by preserving water for future generations. They manufactured different machinery, so the concerning point is, can CPS provide several editing types and protect their intellectual property?
Results/Outcome
Partnering with CPS for post-processing solutions, we experienced 28% higher online purchase rates – Chris shared his opinion. CPS’s photo editing experts tailored solutions that not only resolved NDS’s challenges but also delivered standout outcomes:
- 63% ROI increase: High-quality product images resulted in stronger customer trust, leading to higher sales and profitability.
- 70% faster turnaround: Batch processing and outsourcing allowed NDS to launch new product lines much quicker, keeping up with market demand.
- 35% cost-reduction: NDS saved resources that were previously spent on in-house editing efforts.
What’s the most appealing thing about CPS? “I would say their commitment to precision in handling complex product details like valves and pipe connections is unmatched”.
